What Does it Take to Get YOUR Attention?
At Breaking the Silence we want to always remember and honor the lost victims of child abuse... some of whom never had a chance to survive, and some of whom fought the good fight for however long they were able. By honoring their courageous struggles, we give voice to the agony that they were forced to endure. Furthermore, and of equal importance, we want to honor the survivors... many of whom must struggle on a moment-to-moment basis to function, let alone overcome the nightmares that haunt them... and to empower them to find their voices.

As a country, we honor those who served in the military during foreign wars. It makes good sense that we honor them, because many of those soldiers are greatly traumatized, and all of them are certainly impacted by their service in the war for the rest of their lives.
